The Ministerial Correspondence and Public Enquiries unit replies on behalf of ministers to letters, emails and telephone calls from members of the public.
The unit is in close contact with ministers on a daily basis.

Although we aim to answer everything we receive, we are unable to provide a response if your correspondence:
- asks questions about topics outside of the Department's remit
- contains offensive language
- cannot be read
- is selling or promoting a product
If you want to include a file attachment with your request, the maximum individual file size is 4 megabytes.
A maximum of 10 megabytes for the total size of all files is allowed.
Please also note that the following maximum lengths are allowed:
- first name : 50 characters
- surname : 100 characters
- email address : 250 characters
